Co Founded by the Sharpira brothers in 1935, Heaven Hill’s original distillery was originally located in Bardstown, Kentucky. Their current plant, Bernheim Distillery, is located at the historic downtown intersection of 17th street and Breckenridge Street. As one of the largest independent and family owned bourbon distilleries, Bernheim Distillery produced around 1,300 barrels a day. Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond is their semi-annual release of bourbons of various ages. Their 8th release in the series is their Fall 2021 bourbon. The 11 year bourbon chosen is complex, inviting, and beautifully reminiscent of Fall. On the nose are notes of toasted oak, warm vanilla, brown sugar, baking spices and hints of apple. The palate has a light body, with notes of baked apple pie, old oak, light leather and a touch of cinnamon leading into a long and dry finish with smoldering spice heat and sharp oak.
